Adding User Registration steps, in proper order
I purchased the User Registration AddOn. I following the instructions in the Knowledge Base, the first step after installing and activation is:
Global settings#
After the plugin is activated, you may configure the Global Registration Settings. Access your global settings by going to 'Formidable' → 'Global Settings' → 'Registration'.
However, when I get to that dialog it wants me to enter a Registration page. So, I back out of that and create a page. Then I go back to the Global Registration Settings and give it the newly created Registration Page. Still doesn't work, saying "The selected registration page does not include a registration form. Please select a page that has a registration form published on it."
So I surmise that the correct order of the steps is:
- Download, install, activate etc.
- Create a Registration form
- Create a Registration Page
- Put the Registration Form in the Registration Page
- Configure the Global Registration Settings. Access your global settings by going to 'Formidable' → 'Global Settings' → 'Registration'.
If this is correct, why isn't spelled out in the KB?
I think the basic problem is whoever writes these things assumes that the user has enough WP & Formidable experience to already know he/she has to do steps 2, 3, and 4 and has therefore already done them. Rather than guess about the user's experience, why not just spell it out in more detail?

The Global Pages aren't necessary unless you want Formidable to override the WordPress pages. I don't use the the global pages on my sites, just a custom registration form on a standard page that I link to from the menu.
As far as asking why something isn't in the documentation, you'll have to ask the Formidable Pro team directly through the normal support channel. Questions on this forum are answered by community volunteers. We're end users just like you that are do our best to help each other. We have no affiliation with Formidable Pro other than as their customers.

Thanks. I take your point on the documentation issue.
Not sure I fully understand your comment "Unless you want Formidable to override the WordPress pages" Nonetheless, I tried not doing anything in Global. Just created the User Registration form, created a page for it, and attempted to insert the form into the page. Nothing happens when I click the "Insert in Post" button, and nothing shows up in the page when I visit it.
Obviously, I'm new to WP. Can't say it's easy.

When you add pages to the registration add-on's global settings, you are saying, "use these pages instead of the pages delivered by WordPress for everything." WordPress has its own built-in pages for registration, login, and password resets. By using custom pages, you override these pages in favor of your own.
Unfortunately, I can't help you with the insert post issue today. My development environment is setup to use the Gutenberg editor for a tutorial I'm writing. Gutenberg is the editor that is coming with WordPress 5.0 and the Formidable buttons don't work with Gutenberg yet. What should happen though is that a the form's shortcode should be inserted into your page. You won't see the form itself until you look at the page in the browser.

Thanks. I'm beginning to get the picture. It seems to me, though, that since I bought Formidable Forms Pro and User Registration Add-On I shouldn't be using the inbuilt WordPress forms stuff. Right?
I do understand that the form itself won't show until opened in a browser. Unfortunately, it doesn't. I opened a ticket on it and Stephanie replied that it might be a conflict issue. She suggested disabling other Plugins/AddOns to see if that helped, or insert "short code" manually (ugh).
