Creating a method whereby setting a base zipcode will return results (cities/zips) within zipcode, allowing visitor to select from returned results.
With the available plugins FF has, and the growing knowledge-base here, my question is more of 'is it possible' with FF. To that end, I'm curious if the following use-case is possible to create within FF:
- Vendor wishes to sign up with our company to offer their services.
- Vendor enters their base zipcode (or, more preferably exact location), and a radius amount (aka 30, 50, 80 miles)
- Vendor is then given a list of selectable results (all selected by default) arranged by city and/or zipcode, with driving distance in between (Makes use of Google's API for distance, not just As The Crow Flies)
- Vendor then chooses to un-select locations they do not service & Submits
- *Bonus Idea* Vendor is shown a results map of their service area (polygon outline), and allows them to make an additional service area beyond those boundaries (such as a secondary area, further out), which would then show as a secondary color on the map.
The goal, as you can probably surmise is to allow vendors to clearly define service areas based not just on zip-code, but drivable distances from an initial 'as the crow flies' radius.
Thanks in advance for anyone's time on this quest. I purchased FF years ago, used it, tweaked it, put in some suggestions (had some implemented), and now am back from hibernation, looking to take advantage once more of the helpful and knowledgeable staff and community.
