Digital Signature
The Digital Signature add-on feature supports "Draw It" and "Type". If I don't want my users to type in their signatures, is there a setting in the Signature add-on plugin to disable that feature?
Thanks.

When you add a signature field to a form, you have an option to change the Draw It and Type It text. If you leave the Type It field blank, there won't be an option to type the field on the front end.
Keep in mind though that not all computers have touch screens. If you are on a PC without a touch screen, you are requiring signatures written with a mouse. Its very difficult for users to do that.

Hi great discussion i have the same thoughts about removing the type it option, but have had trouble when people try to sign on a pc. Does anyone know how "legal" the typed signature is? Also when the name is typed in the form it displays in a nice handwritten font, however in a view it's just the standard font. It would be nice to change this.

I'm not a lawyer, so don't take this as Gospel. It's my understanding that e-signatures have been legal in the U.S. since President Clinton enacted the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act in 2000. The act does not apply to certain types of documents, including wills, divorce notices, and documents that are associated with court proceedings. The majority of states have enacted statutes that allow digital signatures in intrastate transactions.
If you are not from the U.S., you'll have to check your countries laws.

typed or drawn signatures mean nothing. No more than clicking you agree to terms of a web site or that they use cookies. Think of it as what proof would there be in a court of law that a particular person actually signed an electronic link?
As a co-founder of Docusign (formerly DocuTouch) we developed a way to authenticate a user that is legal according to the Digital Signature Act of 1999. (https://www.congress.gov/bill/106th-congress/house-bill/1572)
If you do a simple google search there are a number of plugins for docusign now...
