Editing a custom post type after a Create Post Form Action

Hi

I'm using Formidable Pro to create profiles for supervisors on this site - http://supervisors.harts.online.

I've configured the form action to create a custom post type based on the form fields - and it's working as expected.

The problem I'm having is that once the draft custom post type has been created any edits I make to it subsequently (I invariably need to make some adjustments since not all fields are filled in for some form submissions) do not display - the form continues to display the info and formatting from the Create Post Form Action.

I've learned the hard way that duplicating the custom post type and editing this does work - but if I then delete the original it also deletes the form entry - which I don't want to do.

Keeping the original custom post type as Draft or making it an Archive doesn't work either - my custom taxonomy displays duplicate entry values - but I'm also expecting to add ~150 profiles to the site and I don't really want an admin interface with double the number of entries to order and search.

Any advice on how I can solve this would be appreciated.

An update...

On further checking duplicating the custom post type and editing this and keeping the original custom post type as Draft doesn't actually duplicate entry values in my custom taxonomy - the original post as Draft is ignored - but I still have the issue of a 'Supervisors' custom post type admin interface with double the number of entries to order and search.

Any advice on how I can solve this would be appreciated.

I've been dealing with a similar issue for about a year now.  We've always simply "delete without post" with the original form entry.  Unfortunately, as I hand my client over to be more self sufficient, this is a nerve racking solution.  So, I will keep searching and if I find nothing will be attempting to write some php that will process the delete without post automagically after the payment clears (as a part of the form entry).

Hello,
I have about the same context: A user fills a form that he can update. This form creates a Custom Post Type. I also want an administrator to modify this CPT via the administration by also updating the entries of the form. In this way the administrator and the user can each update the same data: the administrator via the admin and the user via the front-end. Is there a simple way to do that? Or a hook?

Can I add a "me too" on this thread?

I'm using a form to create a custom post type.  The post is stuck in draft and any edits are ignored.  It's kind of "locked to the submitted form", as the client puts it.

I have tried Charles' solution above of using "delete without post" but even with the entry deleted, it is impossible to get the post to go from "Draft" to "Published".

Please could someone from the Formidable team comment?

Thanks,

Phil.
