FROM field email action doesn't behave right!

I have noticed no matter what I put in FROM field on email notifications, the email sent FROM section is associated with the site's admin email address. I think this might be a bug!

I tried to use the shortcodes for sender name, last name, sender email address, sitename... none worked.

Does anyone know what I am missing here or is this really a bug?

I think this may be a WordPress thing, or it's governed by your server/host. Looks like it was asked here:
