Multiple Repeater fields

I have five repeater fields on one form.

  1. books
  2. papers
  3. book chapters
  4. conference proceedings
  5. Manuscripts in Development

I would like to limit the total number of items submitted to 6 or less across all five repeater fields.I've found a code snippet that will do this for one repeater field.

  • one person can submit 1 book and 5 papers: total = 6
  • another can submit 1 book, 2 papers, and 3 conference proceedings: total = 6
  • another person could submit 1 book, 2 papers: total =3 which is less than limit of 6.
