Multisite: Possible to create a "Support Ticket" solution for users?

I have a multisite install, and would like to use FP as a way to collect support tickets or requests from my users. I currently have the users only on the front-end, with all content management done that way. No user will have access tot eh back end. I mention this only if it has bearing on a solution.

I am not able to embed a form created on my main site, in my users' subsites, which is my problem. Does anyone have an idea how this can be accomplished? There are other options out there, but all require back-end access for the user.

WordPress Multisite uses separate database tables for each site. If the form was built on the main site, you can either provide a menu link to the main site's support page, or copy the form to each site's Formidable install and create a support page for each site. There aren't any other alternatives that I'm aware of.

The problem with option 2 is that if you modify the form on the main site, the changes won't cascade down to the sub-sites. You'd have to make the same changes to the form on every site. It's a maintenance nightmare.

Yeah, unfortunately those were the only two options I could come up with, as well. The "copy to other..." is crippled due to exactly what you mentioned. The "send to support page", is only a catch-all and not a very elegant solution. Will keep checking on options but may have to go with another plugin to manage a support system.

 

No matter what support plugin you use, you're going to run into the same situation because of multisite architecture. The only way to get something to work across all of your sites is to use a cloud based solution.

There are actually a couple I know of that would work, but require dashboard access:

Could you use the API feature for this to embed the support form on all your sites? say in a collapsible section in a footer.   the redirect on submit would take the user to your ticket page and you could use the referrer info for a "back to my site" link.
