Registration - Front end user profiles - Additional meta fields
If you're interested in creating a 'Front End Profile' that users can update, using the Formidable Registration Addon, then you may find this information valuable.
I found a few different threads in the support forums that side skirted the information I really needed to get this working, which is the ability to update the other meta fields contained in the wordpress user profile. Hopefully this assists others wanting to do the same thing.
- First open any 'user profile' in the wordpress admin.
- Right click any field you wish to target with your formidable field and select "Inspect element" (or equivalent depending on browser).
- Find the "Name value" (Check "Screen1" image attached)
- Go back to the Formidable "Registration Addon" in your form settings and paste that value into the "Name" field of a new 'User Meta', then select the field you've created in your form via the "Form Field" value next to it.
Voila! In my example, whatever value the user enters into the field labeled "Twitter" on my form, will be entered into the "Twitter" meta field in their user profile.
I hope that saves someone the half an hour it took me to work it out :))

P.s. While I'm at it - Check "Screen" three for pre-populating fields with shortcodes. Particularly handy is the 'Meta' shortcode used to pull existing info from a users profile. And here's the full list of shortcodes - https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/shortcodes/#kb-default-values

I can't seem to get this to work with any plugins that add fields to the wordpress profile page. Like WP-Author Box Pro, Starbox, Cimy Extra User Fields, etc. Any ideas of how I can get this to work?

https://wordpress.org/plugins/register-plus-redux/ is what we use then in FP registration plugin link meta fields to match them to your registration form info.... Then you can use those fields on any form to preload them with that registered user's data using the meta field feature.
