User ID field not working on form

I have Register & Login forms set up.

My form has a User ID field to link to logged in users but this is not working. i.e. the field remains blank.

Am I missing a trick here? I have added a screen shot of what I will try but not sure if this is the right method.

Any help appreciated.

Hi Barbara,
Simply adding a User ID field without any changes is sufficient to get the currently logged in user. It is not required to set the dynamic default value or lookup value

Thank you for confirming that the field does not need any further set up. I still continue to have problems which I think are due to some conflict with a datepicker field on my form. I am currently speaking to support to see if they can figure what is going on.
