About The Site
Marybaldwin.edu is a WordPress Multisite that consists of 32 sub-sites, 3 WordPress themes and around 50 active administrators. This online presence is a multifaceted tool that supports faculty, staff and current students in addition to functioning as the prominent digital marketing tool for new student recruitment.
How Formidable is Used
1) https://www.marybaldwin.edu/spencer-center/acts-of-good/
MBU celebrates its 175th year by asking individuals to report and pledge Acts of Good with the intent of completing 175 community service projects. Formidable allowed us the ability to gather information/photos (form) about specific Acts of Goods and easily create actions to assist with publishing (notification, create post, create featured image) them to the web.
2) https://www.marybaldwin.edu/university-relations/web-development/#form
The current MBU website was re-designed over the 2015-2016 academic year, ultimately reducing the total number of sub-sites from nearly 150 to less then 35 and most importantly supporting the institutions transition from College to University. With this drastic transition, the ability for users to submit and report potential issues with the website was/is paramount. Conditional forms paired with user tracking allows submitters to easily report pertinent facts related to specific issues, while also communicating to website administrators the navigational path these users have taken.
3) https://www.marybaldwin.edu/financial_aid/sep/student-employment-application/ (custom .php / shortcode)
Student employment is a crucial element to how the university functions, and by providing an online application (form) the selection process is streamlined. The customization to this form auto populates the "Work Study Interest" dropdown based upon published posts in a specific WordPress category. Customization: Converts post IDs into titles for the dropdown, and converts these ID's back into post titles for the auto-response email.
4) http://www.marybaldwin.edu/admissions/visiting-mbc/register/ (custom .js)
Securing in-person visits with potential students is critical, but as a small university, personnel and availability can be limited. In order to facilitate this better, a conditional form paired with a customizable date picker allows site administrators to conditionally provide available times based upon date selection as well as blackout dates. Customization: Javascript hooks into the date picker field but removes "unavailable" dates.
