Hook Examples

Add Dynamic Total to Before Content

This function will sum all values in field 171, but it will only include entries that are displayed in your View. If some entries are excluded due to a filter, it will not include those entries. Just put [sum_x] in your View's Before Content. Replace x with the ID of the field you would like to sum. You must also replace x in the code below with this field ID.

Check each value from checkbox

In order to use checkboxes in a search form, custom code is needed to separate each checked box and search for them individually instead of as a single string. For example, if I had a search form with boxes for 'red', 'blue', and 'yellow', I don’t want it to search for 'red, blue'. Replace 205 with the ID of your View. Replace 82, 83, and 84 with either a single field ID for the field in your View filter or multiple, comma-separated field IDs if you have multiple fields in your View filters that need this code.

Sending Email Notification Only Once on Update from a Custom Display

Trigger an email notification with an update, not by creation. But the challenge is, we definitely don't want to send the notification every time we update their entry, because we update it a lot with . . . lots of information we don't want them to see (like whether they're getting an award or not).
