Hook Examples

Prevent editing based on field value

If your form is set up to allow editing, but you want to disallow editing when a certain field value is submitted, use the code below. Change 45 to the ID of your form, 123 to the ID of the field to check, and 'Closed' to the value that will prevent editing.

You can use the example below to remove the ID column and all of it's entry information from the .csv file of a particular form upon export.

Display Specific Message Based on URL Parameter

This example will allow for a specific no entries message to be displayed if a user has filtered a View using a URL parameter, but no entries exist based on that filter. Replace 1378 with the ID of your View, and change the page URLs and messages as needed.

The URLs in this example are relative; therefore, if your URL is 'www.mysite.com/my-view/?status=pending', you would just use '/my-view/?status=pending'.

Add a character counter

Building a character counter off Formidable's word counter.

Create/Update Form B when Create/Update in Form A is done (regardless of user or number of entries)

• When creating an entry in Form A, an entry in Form B will also be created
• When updating an entry in Form A, the corresponding entry in Form B will also be updated.
• This hook doesn't check t . . . see if the user is the same, or count the number of entries the user already has, so entries can be updated by other users.

The only thing it's not doing is adding data to any of the Form B fields upon update in the event the original entry's field was blank. I read somewhere in these forums on how to fix that, but haven't found it yet.
